I am a Somatic Movement Educator, certified through Essential Somatics. As a BASI qualified Pilates teacher, I was led to pursue Somatics to better support myself and others to unwind patterns of chronic pain and have found this method to be of immense value. Somatics has now become a core part of my practice and teaching. It brings a greater awareness to how I move, helps release constrictions and allows for more freedom of movement. I really enjoy helping people move without pain and with increased fluidity and grace. An enjoyment of yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong have also informed my practice.

Following an accident in my teens, I have experienced frequent episodes of chronic pain and been reliant on other therapies, such as osteopathy and acupuncture to ease symptoms. Keeping my body fit and strong through disciplines such as Pilates, combined with a greater awareness of how to release tension via Somatics, have given me more control over easing my symptoms and moving with more ease and grace.

Prior to working in the movement field, I have worked in mental health, communications, travel and publishing.

I live in West Sussex with my family and dogs and enjoy cooking, wild swimming, tennis, reading, writing and being amongst nature.

“Movement is life. Life is a process. Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself.”
